Hi everybody....

If you have an older animal that is breathing very heavy during the summer months, just crank down your A/C a degree or two and it may help them breathe better.....Take care of your loved ones..... just a thought!!!

Heart and Repiratory Tonic

During these hot summer months, if you find that your older dog is breathing and panting a lot just do the above and perhaps this old folks remedy (below) may help them til it gets cooler.

Make an infusion of rosemary. To do this, warm 2 cups of water in a pot until it starts to boil; then add 4 spriges of rosemary (removing the spines from the branch) into this hot water; cover and let steep for 15-20 minutes. Remove all spines and put this infusion of rosemary into an amber glass bottle and store in the refrig. Once per day give your animal 1 tbls of this infusion plus 1 teas of organic honey. You can warm them together, but don't heat over 140 degrees or the benefits of the honey will be destroyed.

You can give this to your pet once (or twice) a day and see if his/her labored breathing, etc. is controlled. Honey is great for soothing the muscles of the heart and a restorant, and the rosemary is a tonic that has cleansing effects and is a nervine. Also make certain they consume lots of water.....To encourage drinking, just add a little honey and they will lap it up!!!!!

Urinary Incontinence (for your older females)

We can thank the American Indians for this remedy, it works but you have to be diligent. Buy Fresh (organic) corn ..Take the silk from your cobb of corn and put in a plastic baggie and place in your frig. Whenever you feed your doggie, just chop about 1/4 -1/2 teas of fresh corn silk into the top of their food... Do this at the evening meal (don't forget to take up their water at night) and you will notice that their sleeping incontinence will disappear. It may take a nite, a week or a few months, but be diligent...It works... and no more stinky bedding to wash!!! They may slip one or two nites but start the corn silk again...Its better than that drug PPA that has side effects of strokes and seizures.....
PS - an acupuncturist also can help with urinary incontinence for your loved ones...try it.. you WILL be surprised.

Hip Dysplasia:

Take about 1/4 teas of tumeric and put it in 1/2 teas of coconut oil.(for a 20-30lb dog). Stir and see if your doggie eats it.. They should love the coconut oil, but some times the tumeric is bitter... If your doggie won't eat it this way, you could sprinkle some tumeric in their food, or take this coconut/tumeric liquid and dip some of these favorite food into it and feed by mouth. You should notice that their legs won't be so wogglie shortly after ingesting the mixture. Hip dysplasia is caused by inflammation and the tumeric is an anti-inflammatory and will help considerably...Good Luck!!!
