BITES, INSECTS: Irritation of the skin caused by an insect biting and infecting the skin with venom causing irritation, itching and/or an allergic reaction. Some very allergic individuals can have anaphylactic shock from the formic acid in an insect bite and should seek emergency assistance immediately.

Self Help – Apply cold or ice compresses. Make a paste of either mud and water, or baking soda and water and apply to affected area. Stay calm and keep the area below the level of the heart.

Acupuncture To clear heat and toxins, needle the local Ashi point as well as the use of herbal remedies.

Apply: Holy basil juice, or sandalwood paste to sting. Drink cilantro juice. 
Food Therapy/
Nutrition
Reduce swelling with raw onion/garlic poultice, lemon juice or vinegar. Apply: aloe vera, witch hazel, toothpaste, honey, baking soda, sea salt, ice packs, wheat germ oil, rubbing alcohol. Eat: juniper berries. Repellant: garlic.
Herbology,
Western
Teas: Echinacea, yellow dock, white oak bark, witch hazel bark. Poultice: Lobelia, comfry and slippery elm. Apply: Lemon palm oil, grounded up plantain leaves (plantago major-"weed"), or basil. Repellants are mountain mint, pennyroyal, lemon palm oil. Compresses: chamomile, blessed thistle, blue or black cohosh.
Holistic Apply: Cold compresses to reduce swelling and pain. See Definitions
Homeopathy Aconite, Lachdsisa, Apis mel., Hypericum, Urtica Urens. Insect bites: Ledum, Hypericum, Calendula. Wasp stings: Apis mel., Calendula. Rescue Remedy. Remedies are based on specific associated symptoms
Naturopathic Bee stings are acid - bath area in water and bicarbonate. Wasp stings are alkaline - use lemon juice or vinegar. Mud poultice can pull out the stinger. Apply a paste of soft charcoal tablet and water, or lavender oil, tree tea oil, aloe vera, calamine lotion, calendula cream, chickweed cream, tree tea oil, vitamina E oil. Vitamin C therapy (immediately take 500 grams w/Vitamin B6 (1 gram), quercetin w/bromelain, or apply liquid chlorophyll. Pantothenic acid is an antihistamine and good for swelling.

Apply: citronella, pennyroyal, eucalyptus, with sesame or safflower oil, oregano oil. Poultice: coffee. Repellant: Oil of fenugreek, lemongrass.
