CONSTIPATION: Abnormally delayed or infrequent passage of dry,
hardened feces (stools). It is usually caused by lack of fiber and/or fluid in your diet, as well
as the lack of exercise, increased stress, excessive use of laxatives and enemas, poor diet and nutrition,
food allergies, the use of highly processed foods, exposure to toxic metals (arsenic, lead, mercury), etc.
Constipation can lead to a build up of toxins in your body resulting in
many chronic conditions such as arthritis, lupus, autoimmune diseases, colitis, to only name a few. Consult your
health care provider if associated with vomiting,
fever or abdominal pain.
Self Help - for the initial stages of this condition: (1) Rest in bed with hot water bottle on stomach, (2) eat a few
prunes, a salad and/or vegetables at your evening meal. (3) Coffee is a diuretic and may help. (4) It is also essential
to pay particular attention to integrating an exercise program (brisk walking, swimming, etc.) into your daily regime along with the implementation
of the proper amounts of protein, carbohydrates, mineral salts, roughage, fluids and vitamins.
