TINNITUS: A continuous feeling of fullness,
clogging or intermittent ringing, roaring, buzzing and other noises in
the ears that are unrelated to external sounds. Can be the result of a
foreign body in the ear, pressure damage, build up of wax, allergies,
aging, autoimmune and metabolic disorders, smoking, or drug reactions, etc. Stress can make this condition worse. If one
complains of dizziness or vertigo with tinnitus, consult your healthcare practitioner.
Self Help – relaxation, stress management, guided imagery, slow deep
breathing, biofeedback and hypnotherapy. Any of these modalities (after a few sessions of your choice)
will be able to help you reproduce a learned state of well-being and perhaps reduce
the some of your symptoms. Avoid aspirin, quinine and eliminate caffeine in your diet until healed. Give yourself a "music
bath" and listen to something that you enjoy. |
