Az Wellness Information, the power of Alternative, Complementary and Holistic Medicine. Alternative therapies for everyday symptoms.

URINARY TRACT INFECTION (UTI) is an inflammation of the kidneys, ureter, bladder (cystitis), penis, and/or urethra, which all play a part in the elimination of waste materials (urine) from our bodies. Some of the symptoms of UTI are urinary urgency, frequency, burning, abdominal and/or low back pain and can be associated with cloudy or bloody urine. Urinary tract infections can be caused by overuse of antibiotics, venereal disease, stress, spermacides, contraceptives, excess acid forming foods, poor elimination and hygiene.

Self Help – Drink plenty of liquids (a good quality water is best) at least 8 ounces every hour until symptoms subside. Add unsweetened cranberry juice (which inhibits bacterial growth, or E. Coli) to this regime. If symptoms do not resolve within 6-12 hours, consult your health care provider. Eat parsley. Practice good hygiene.
